Esme-Rose Irene Allsop

On Wednesday 9 October 2024, at 5.11pm, my beautiful daughter, Kelly, and gorgeous partner Charlie, welcomed my third grandchild into the world.

Esme-Rose was born and weighed in at 8lb 3oz. It was an unbelievable labour for Kelly and wasn’t without complications. Labour started the previous evening at 8.30pm, some 21 hours, and with the birthing pool, and finally succumbing to the need for an epidural, Esme-Rose arrived safely. The drama wasn’t over for Mum and Dad as Kelly lost a lot of blood after the birth, but a few hours later, Esme-Rose was receiving her first feed from her beautiful but worn-out Mum.

Labour Time

Charlie was with Kelly for every single second of the labour and beyond. Kelly said: “Charlie was an absolute hero to me. Didn’t leave my side at all.”
