Esme’s 1st Christmas
On Saturday 14 December 2024, Jezz and I hosted an open house at home and saw Amanda, Charlie, Kelly, and Esme and Michèle.
There was plenty of food and I made a slow cooker pot of Chicken Curry. We exchanged gifts for one another, but Jezz and I kept ours so that we had plenty to open on Christmas Day. Although we didn’t play games this year, probably because of the absence of the boys, we did get to learn how to fold a carrier bag in to a triangle by Kelly. Michèle showed us her way of folding a fitted sheet.
Ok, here’s the photos…
Oh, but before we do, I was playing with an AI Paragraph Expander online and pasted the above text into it. It came back with this… I thought I’d share it with you, just for a laff…
On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Jezz and I had the pleasure of hosting an open house at our home, where we welcomed a wonderful group of friends, including Amanda, Charlie, Kelly, Esme, and Michèle. It was such a delightful gathering, filled with warmth, laughter, and the joy of reconnecting with cherished friends during this festive season.
We made sure to have an abundance of food to share, as is customary for such occasions. One of the highlights of the afternoon was the slow cooker pot of Chicken Curry that I prepared. The aroma wafting through the house was irresistible, and it certainly added to the cosy atmosphere of our gathering.
As we settled in, we took a moment to exchange gifts with one another. However, Jezz and I decided to hold onto our gifts, opting to wait until Christmas Day for that extra bit of excitement when we could open them together. It was a strategic choice, allowing us to savour the anticipation of the holiday.
While we didn’t play any games this year, likely due to the absence of the boys, we found other enjoyable activities to fill our time. One of the most memorable moments came when Kelly graciously took the time to teach us a neat little trick for folding a plastic carrier bag into a tidy triangle. It was both practical and unexpectedly entertaining to learn this simple yet effective technique.
Additionally, Michèle shared her impressive method for folding a fitted sheet—a task that many find daunting. Watching her fold the sheet with such ease and efficiency was inspiring, and it sparked a great conversation about household hacks that we all could benefit from.
Overall, it was a lovely afternoon filled with good food, thoughtful gifts, and memorable lessons shared among friends. We left the gathering with our hearts full of joy, eagerly looking forward to the Christmas celebration just around the corner.
