Wedding Reception
And so... photos of our wonderful guests and a few of us.
Kelly and me singing for the first time
One tick for the bucket list, I get to sing a karaoke tune with our beautiful daughter, Kelly. The song was "Out Here On My Own" from the soundtrack 'Fame.'
First Dance - the grooms
Jezz and me doing the first dance. It was to "My Life Is Loving You" by Sylvester and was just so lovely.
Mr & Mr and 50
A good photo showing the 4ft lights that spelt out MR & MR and then the number 50 for Jezz's 50th birthday.
21 years strong
This perspex frame was a 21st birthday frame and bought in error but then it occurred to me that it was also our 21st anniversary so with a bit of photo editing, I made it a reminder that our wedding weekend was also our 21st anniversary of knowing each other.
Ethan - budding photographer
We were thrilled to see Ethan using our wedding as a practice canvas for his photography skills.
Us with our old pals, Sarah and Karen
I love the way Simon captures us posing for someone else... it's very effective.
Ali's exceptional fascinator
Ali had this wonderful fascinator handmade for her to wear at our wedding. She wanted something that blended with our rainbow theme, and it worked beautifully.
Candy cart close up
We originally intended to have buckets of sweets with scoops for the candy cart but the COVID situation made us have a re-think and decided to provide bags instead.
Mr & Mr - back to back
A good photo idea from Debbie as she had Jezz and I sit on the dance floor, back to back. Nice touch, Debs.
Mr & Mr - back to back, close up
And of course, when a good idea is spotted, everyone wanted one. Which was a beautiful feeling and made Jezz and I feel so special.
Husband and daughter
Chris blowing bubbles... pretty amazing as he didn't have a bubbles bottle. Jezz and Kelly wondering how!
At the sweethearts table
In for the night, jackets off... and that lovely centrepiece that Jezz made.
The best man speech
Andy's lovely speech was tough to follow... only because his was nice and pleasant and mine... was.. well... not so much.
Nikki, my back, Sarah, Amanda, Karen and Andy
Simon takes some good candid shots... Well, I had no idea.
Yeah.. that's a better idea... join in.
As Kelly does the dance that Dad's do, Jake helps his Mum out with a few shapes of his own.
Jezz, practising
Jezz uses all of his puff to blow up balloons for our guests... yeah, that was the only one but his heart was in the right place.
Kelly on the dance floor
Kelly's still creating new shapes... so new... none of us have seen them before.
Jim gets ready
Jim hears a rumour that one of the guests is a podiatrist and has a question ready for her.
Excellent photo of the party room
Not sure but think Debbie or Jim took this one... or was it Ethan? Anyway, it's a good one... the ceiling, the angle, table display and colour from the rainbow arch.
One more time...
Let's have a round of applause to Amanda for the amazing and stunning 6-tier gay rainbow wedding cake.
Another brilliant photo
The rainbow arch over the sweethearts table, the J & W silver balloons, the wedding cake and cake topper. Fabulous photo. Who took this one?
Cake topper close up
With the Mr & Mr lights in the background, here's Jezz and Wayne, the cake topper.
Costume change time
Jezz and I go back to our hotel room and change out of our suits in to matching Gant rainbow and pink t-shirts.
I'm not drunk... do you want some... outside
Debbie wears all of the glow sticks and walks about the place, selling them like a gypsy selling lavender poseys. Everyone is too afraid not to buy one so clears up the joint.
One of my favourite photos of the day
Jezz and I, all pink-socked and posing for loads of cameras and phones that are going off around us. Debbie's idea for this pose and it's a great one.
Oh wow... is that Barbra Streisand & Barry Gibb I can hear?
Sister Nikki and me belting out Peters and Lee's "Welcome Home." Not a bad effort.
One of my favourite photos of all time
Jezz is euphoric as what felt like all of our guests, danced around us both on the dance floor, trapping us in. With the current climate, I was expecting Jezz to freak out but I looked up and saw this... I was thrilled.
Underneath the arches
I knew about a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow... don't remember owt about there being two old poofs on route to get to it though!
Here we go... and so... the final quarter of the evening...
This was about the time that the staff of the hotel and its entire security department lost any control of the place... and there she is... Nikki letting her hair down (until someone quickly and strategically placed a balloon in the way). It's the "Oops Upside Your Head" dance.
And we return to calm and normality... if only for a moment
Me... that's just pink lemonade so I've no explanation for the gormless smile.
Vick and Michèle
Vick tells Michèle the story of Jezz's 3-minute birthday present one year... an orange space hopper.
Zoe, Nik, Deb and Jim
Nikki and Debs show Zoe and Jim how to have a good time without being drunk... hmm... someone's lying!
Vicki's place setting
Most of our guests had a cross-stitch emblem of a rainbow with the date and out initials which were all made by hand, by Amanda. Also, at each table place setting, was a name place card wedged into rainbow covered cork, made to look like rock and then with lollipop signs for the waiting staff, to quickly see who is having what. We added an extra one for Vick, purely for the fun of it!
